SONY #BE ALPHA
LOS ANGELES MEETUP
We were tasked with creating an interactive visual playground for ~1,000 Los Angeles photographers to play within that would act as a canvas of experimentation with Sony Alpha’s latest camera gear and create some social traction for Sony’s 2018-2019 Be Alpha campaign.
EVENT CURATION AND CREATIVE DIRECTION
We conceptualized and curated all aspects of this event from set design to DJ performances and photo moments. In addition, we oversaw all production on every level.
We wanted to provide a wide variety of shooting experiences for photographers to try the camera in a number of angles, lighting scenarios, and movement scenarios.
We designed visual scenarios where photographers look up through glass platforms, look down from a 12 ft tall deck, and look out at professional skateboarders, roller skaters, and stunt pro’s creating movement against a scene of the city.
For most of these settings, we oversaw PD from start to finish via in-house custom fabrication, prop styling, etc.
Unique talent casting
We wanted to create a viral impact, so we were intentional about casting talent who were not only amazing subjects to capture but also have their own presence on social media and could maximize impressions.
